Pieris jap. Bonfire

Pieris japonica Bonfire is a compact, slow-growing evergreen shrub prized for its vivid red new growth that matures to glossy green, and for drooping clusters of small, white, bell-shaped flowers in spring. For reliable performance in Ireland, grow in acidic, humus-rich, moist but welldrained soil (ericaceous) in light shade or sun with shelter; avoid alkaline soils and drying winds.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
