Dicksonia Antarctica 150cm 5 foot

Dicksonia antarctica is a dramatic, evergreen tree fern with a thick, reddishbrown fibrous trunk topped by a graceful crown of large, arching, deeply divided, darkgreen fronds. Best in sheltered, humid conditions with partial to full shade, it thrives in a moist, humusrich soil and benefits from regular watering into the crown during the growing season. In colder spells, protect the crown with fleece or straw to safeguard the emerging fronds. An outstanding architectural focal point for shaded courtyards and woodland-style planting in Ireland.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
