HEBE Matty Brown

HEBE Matty Brown is a compact evergreen hebe grown for its neat habit and rich, bronzy foliage that brings yearround structure and colour. It does best in sun to light shade and in Ireland benefits from a sheltered, freedraining site out of cold, drying winds. Plant in moist but welldrained, moderately fertile soil; it will cope with light sandy or chalky ground but avoid waterlogging, especially in winter. Ideal for containers, the front of mixed borders and low informal edging; trim lightly after flowering to keep a tidy shape.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
