Phlox Candy Stripes

Moss phlox (Phlox subulata Candy Stripe) is a low, mat-forming evergreen perennial with fine, needle-like foliage that forms a dense carpet, ideal for spilling over walls and edging rockeries. In late spring it is smothered in starry bicolour bloomswhite petals marked with soft pink stripescreating a crisp, eye-catching display. Best in full sun and well-drained, moderately fertile soil, its useful for rock gardens, containers, the front of borders, and sunny courtyard beds. Eventual size about 20cm tall and 50cm across.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
