Viburnum opulus Roseum

Viburnum opulus Roseum (snowball tree) is a classic deciduous shrub prized for its showy, spherical clusters of sterile, white flowers in late spring to early summer (MayJune), often ageing to a soft pink as they fade. Three-lobed green foliage brings good autumn colour, and the plant forms a rounded, bushy shape, typically reaching about 4m tall and wide over time. Reliable in Irish gardens in sun or light shade, it thrives in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil and tolerates clay and chalk. Ideal as a specimen or in mixed shrub borders for seasonal impact; prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape. Fully hardy in Irish conditions.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size
