Camassia caerulea Alba

Camassia caerulea Alba is a tall, bulbous perennial producing elegant spires of starry white flowers in late spring to early summer above narrow, strap-like leaves. Reliable in Irish gardens, it thrives in full sun or partial shade and in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil, coping well with heavier clay. Reaching about 1.2m tall and 0.3m wide, it is excellent threaded through borders and beds, and suits cottage and prairie-style planting where its vertical blooms add light and movement.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
